The Unsigned Online Player is a piece of software that links to the Unsigned Online website. The Player itself streams music that has been posted onto the website by unsigned artists in the UK.

With every download of the Unsigned Online Player comes a PDF file named “Read Me”. This file is located in the folder where the application is stored.

When do updates appear for the Unsigned Online Player?
Updates can appear any time, so please refer to the Unsigned Online website for any notifications about updates.

How do I install new updates?
When updates are available, download the update, and drag and drop the file into your Unsigned Online folder. This will prompt you to “update” or “replace” the file already located within the folder. Please accept the prompt, and your player will be updated.

Can I change the colour of the Unsigned Online Player?
Not at present, but this should be available in the future.

Where is the “play” button?
The “play” button is the same button as “pause”. When you press “pause”, the button will change to “play”.

What do the treble and bass controls do?
The treble and bass controls work the same way as the controls found on any CD player or stereo. In layman’s terms, if you want to hear a singer, turn up the treble control, and if you want to hear a bass drum, turn up the bass control.

What do the stars do?
The stars on the Unsigned Online Player’s display are the rating system. These help to determine which song to play next on the player, and help to personalise the radio for each user.

How do I report an offensive song?
Under the “options” menu in the Unsigned Online Player, there is a link that should be pressed if a song is found to be offensive. The link will automatically send message to the Unsigned Online team who will check the song/artist, and will take relevant action if the song/artist contains offensive material.

How does the Unsigned Online Player choose songs?
The Unsigned Online Player chooses songs at random when the application has been opened for the first time. It then takes into consideration the rating system when choosing liked or disliked songs.

How do I view a band’s profile from the Unsigned Online Player?
Use the profile link in the bottom, left corner of the display screen on the Unsigned Online Player to link directly to the current playing band’s profile.

What modifications can I expect to see in the future?
A more complex song generator is currently being discussed, and improvements on the interface should be produced in the near future.
